Facility Custodian

Summary:

Responsible for performing a variety of custodial and maintenance duties in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, showers, kitchen and break-room areas.
  • Cleans and remove trash from offices, kitchen, dining area and production according to set schedule.
  • Maintains cleanliness and appropriate supplies in restroom, locker rooms and other common areas according to schedule.
  • Washes inside windows and mirrors.
  • Dusts offices, including ceiling and walls.
  • Cleans fitness room and equipment following manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Washes production floor using power washer.
  • Vacuums and shampoos carpets.
  • Strips, cleans, buffs and applies floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors.
  • Uses and maintains assigned power equipment and hand tools, such as buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, vacuums, brooms, mops, squeegees, etc. for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, windows, furniture and work stations. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
  • Assists with setup of facilities for meetings, events, etc.
  • Uses ladders when required for work assignments.
  • Changes light bulbs and ballast.
  • Assists with maintaining the grounds, performing snow/ice removal and yard work as assigned.
  • Assists Facility Maintenance Technician with projects as necessary.
  • Maintains a professional working relationship and effectively communicates with employees, managers, vendors, customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Understands and complies with company policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and safety regulations.
  • Regular attendance at work is required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
