Assembler

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate assembly of primarily mechanical components for handheld surgical instruments ranging from simple single component to complex multi-component assemblies and ensuring all final assembled products meet or exceed customer specifications. 

Essential Duties Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned:

• Responsible for the assembly of products
• Responsible for ensuring all final assembled products meets or exceeds customer specifications.
• Works closely with the Assembly Process Coordinator in completing the assembly schedule and works to ensure the schedule is met.
• Performs laser marking as specified by job requirements.
• Performs post passivation process.
• Performs final cleaning of products.
• Prepares/packages products for shipment
• Assists in any other manufacturing area as required ensuring customer expectations are met.
• Performs any other duty as assigned or required.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. The ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment:  The work environment is within a manufacturing facility.  The Assembler position is mostly sedentary work with occasional assistance within various departments of manufacturing. The work environment is temperature controlled with no extreme heat or cold exposure.

Travel:  Employee will not be required to travel for this position.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):  The employee is required to wear the necessary PPE while working in the manufacturing environment (i.e. - safety tipped shoes, protective eye glasses, etc.)
